BNH is an Everett based full service architectural firm committed to improving communities through quality design.

Originally established in 1954, BNH has continued to thrive under the leadership of Andrew M. Hall, AIA, who takes pride in his personal involvement with all projects to provide quality and engaging professional design services to our clients. Our staff is passionate about designing spaces that help professionals work efficiently and orderly. We work closely with the project Owner to create a building that best facilitates their purpose, meets their budget and leverages the life-cycle-cost return.
Approach to Design

In an effort to tie our projects to societal values and our desire to improve the communities in which we work, we approach our projects with the integrated considerations of urban design, building design, and sustainability.

  Urban Design

Because we view our work as part of the community fabric rather than only isolated, individual buildings, we are able to recognize that the support spaces between buildings and outdoor spaces, such as: drives, parking lots, etc, are extremely important to the design process.

Building Design

Our team develops creative, appealing, and affordable design solutions for our client's program and site that will result in rational, well-resolved and well-crafted buildings.

Sustainability

At BNH we strive to appropriately and creatively integrate economic, social, and environmental considerations in support of our client's goals, aspirations, and financial resources. In doing so, we aspire to create buildings that advance toward a more sustainable society.
A Full Service Firm

BNH can coordinate your project from start to finish whether it's new construction, an improvement, an addition, or an historic renovation. We have experience in planning, design and construction services that vary from master planning to renovation to all new construction.
Architect's Role

We believe the architect's role in the design process is one of facilitator. Our responsibility is to translate the owner's goals, desires and needs into a project that functionally relates, is aesthetically pleasing, completed on schedule, and within budget. Rather than molding an owner's needs into one consistent architectural style, you will find that each facility in our portfolio demonstrates a unique fashion and form that coincides with the intended programmatic use.
Communication

Positive interaction between the client and our staff is achieved by developing open channels of communication. We are committed to demonstrating integrity through active involvement with the client and various group influences affecting a project. This "no surprises" approach diffuses the opportunity for disappointment, which can be detrimental to the owner-architect relationship. Future business opportunities are based on our ability to clearly meet the client's fee structure, budget, construction time line, and project program.
Cost Control

The single-most critical component of a successful construction project is not exceeding the owner's budget constraints. It is the architect's responsibility to advise the owner of all factors affecting cost throughout the design and construction processes.  The construction documents and drawings are the design team's only means of controlling quality, schedule, and cost overruns. The current construction industry is extremely competitive, requiring each bidder to make assumptions that can reduce their bid price. Complete and thorough construction documents will minimize assumptions, avoid disputes, and most importantly, control cost.
Planning

A successful project begins with the clear understanding of the client's wishes, the community's concerns, and the governing body's regulations. BNH carries out a host of responsibilities to ensure your project is carried out successfully. Feasibility studies, land use and impact studies are all implemented to design a facility which best uses the owner’s property and program. BNH works together with the owner to create a schedule for project completion, most importantly project phasing so existing structures have the least interruption to business. Our staff is well versed in City, County and State regulations and has the willingness to listen to and work with these agencies which consistently leads to the expediting of permit applications and the approval process. We can also help you to compile plans and form necessary to procure State or Federal matching funds.
Community Involvement

Supporting the community that supports you is not a new idea, and yet, it is often overlooked. We actively devote our time and resources to various community organizations, including, but not limited to: The American Red Cross, March of Dimes, YMCA of Snohomish County, Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish County, Providence Regional Medical Center Everett
: Everett Foundation, Puget Sound Kidney Center, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International, and the Everett Public Schools Foundation. This community participation also extends to the municipal planning process. we believe this commitment to our community benefits us with an awareness of the social, political, and economic issues affecting our region.
