Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, Cardiac Evaluation, Colby Campus
The hospital had a need for a unit to evaluate low risk chest pain patients who arrive at the emergency department in a non acute state to determine through a battery of tests, whether they need to be admitted. The 23 hour observation unit which is in close proximity to the emergency department and main family waiting area consists of 10 individual observation rooms, nurse station and support spaces. The design was integrated with an existing vaulted skylight that spanned the length of the space and modified to take advantage of daylighting into the unit.
